Opal Class

This afternoon Opal Class have been investigating evergreen and deciduous trees. Deciduous trees, like Willow trees and Norway Maples, lose their leaves in the Autumn but evergreen trees, like Christmas trees, keep their leaves all year round! Look out for them on your way to school…

Today Opal class were practising sharing between 2. We now know that the amounts have to be the same for each group and we used the “one for me, one for you” method. Some children looked at using the division symbol to record their sharing. Well done Opal, a fab lesson!

This afternoon Opal class were looking at how the trees change through the seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. We discussed how the leaves start to die as the weather gets colder and this means that they fall off!

Topaz Class

This morning Topaz Class have been writing letters home to their parents about Lights, Camel, Action! They carefully planned what would be in their letter and why they are writing it. Well done Topaz, the letters look fab!

‘Jack & the Beanstalk’ Pantomime Trip:

Thursday 14th December in the morning (all KS1 classes)

  1. Please provide your child with a pack lunch or request one from school via the class teacher.
  2. Again, if you would like to come and you are DBS checked, please see your child’s class teacher.

 

Opal Class

This afternoon Opal class went outside to look at some different trees and how we can identify them through their leaves. We found a Norway Maple tree (3 pointed leaf), a Silver Birch tree (short and round leaf) and a Willow tree (long and thin leaf). We also talked about seasonal changes and how the trees look different in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Opal Stay and Read

Opal class had a fantastic morning at their “Stay and Read”. We were over the moon to have so many parents join us and really enjoyed sharing our favourite books, writing stories, practising phonics and dressing up! Thank you to all who came, we hope to see you again very soon for our next Stay and Read on the 7th December.
