This afternoon Opal class have been collaging some beautiful emerald leaves for our beanstalk! Also well done to the children who took these photos – you’ve recorded some lovely shots of what we have been doing!

This morning, Opal, Topaz and Crystal class went on a trip to Tesco as part of Money Week. We had so much fun! We got to visit the cash office and see electric money counters and pods of money arrive via the secret pipes! We also had a go at using a shopping list and checking the prices of items as well as checking out our baskets on the tills by scanning their barcodes. Thank you Tesco!

This afternoon, Opal class were practising using algorithms to program the Beebots. We also used a beebot game on the laptops to practise putting in precise instructions and pressing GO! The children also used a class iPad to take their own photos and record the learning going on in the lesson. A brilliant digital afternoon!

This morning Opal class have finished our class book Jim and the Beanstalk, and wrote a letter as the Giant for Jim. Some children decided that he would say “come back and visit me” and some children thought he would say “I will eat you now I have my false teeth!”. We also continued to write our Jack and the Beanstalk books, they are really looking great and we look forward to showing them to you!

Super well done to Elodie and Rada for their radio debut this afternoon on BBC Radio Oxford!! They were very brave and challenged the listeners to answer the homework question “How do I make a rainbow?”

Watch out you two, you may have to sign some autographs at the school gates!

Topaz class had a lovely morning, it was great to see some parents for our Stay & Maths! Please come back next Thursday for our money morning!

Crystal class had a brilliant time practising their maths and showing off what they know to their parents. Thanks for coming and we hope to see you again next Thursday for money week!

This morning Opal class have been practising finding half of shapes by folding them. They have also been designing the front cover for their book Jack and the Beanstalk which we will be completing this week.
